Ho scoperto che l'opera, alla sua prima rappresentazione alla Scala nel febbraio 1904, fece fiasco.

Puccini la rielaborò e presentò la nuova versione proprio nella mia città, Brescia, il 28 maggio 1904.
Fu un successo che, da allora in poi, non ha più avuto ostacoli.
Io non lo sapevo, per me è stata una gradevole scoperta e, per celebrarla,  ascoltiamo insieme la nostra sfortunata Butterfly che, piena di speranza e di ansia, si prefigura il ritorno dell'amato Pinkerton.
Ho scelto l'interpretazione di Maria Callas: le modulazioni della sua voce sono espressive, drammatiche, trasmettono trepidazione, brividi....

I discovered that this opera, when first showed at Scala Theatre in 1904 on February,  fell through.
Puccini corrected his work and the new version was shown just in my town, Brescia, on May 28th 1904. 
It was a succees from then to now and further.
This was a surprise  for me, I did not know that. 
So, in order to celebrate this fact, let's listen to our unfortunate  Butterfly who, full of hope and anxiety, imagines her loved Pinkerton 's return.
I chose Maria Callas's interpretation, because modulations of her voice are so expressive and give trepidation, chills ..

Scorrono i giorni, scorrono i post, ma voglio tornare su Loie Fuller, la danzatrice che affascinò il tempo della Belle Epoque!

 Toulouse Lautrec la raffigurò varie volte, ma non solo lui.

  Toulouse Lautrec  depicted her several times, but he was not not the only one.

La troviamo in statuette e manifesti.... dinamica, vorticosa, voluttuosa, ...
We find her in little statues and posters.... dynamic, whirling, voluptuous ...

I like the art and the times when this dancer lived, that spirit of Art Nouveau which pervaded human expressions with its confidence in progress. 
For a few years, then everything crashed.

PANTA REI, but the memory remains ...

Mi piace l'arte ed il tempo in cui visse questa danzatrice, quello spirito Liberty che pervase le espressioni umane con la sua fiducia nel progresso.
 Per pochi anni, poi tutto crollò.
